Edward of Southwest Pack & Paw with a dog on a mountain ridge in the Rockies

About

Hi, I'm Edward.

I've spent over 10 years working with and training family dogs, and the ones I connect with most are the dogs who need a little more: the 100-pound goofball who forgets his own strength, the dog who barks at every bike, the shy rescue, the old friend who needs a hand getting up the stairs.

I started Southwest Pack & Paw so those dogs, and their people, have someone in SW Calgary they can count on. Every dog gets a plan that fits them, patient handling and a walker who stays calm when things get exciting.

FAQ

Questions dog owners ask

Do you really take big and reactive dogs?

Yes, they're my specialty. Large breeds, strong pullers, leash-reactive dogs and dogs with special needs are exactly who Southwest Pack & Paw is built for. There's no extra charge for size or reactivity.

What happens at the free meet-and-greet?

I visit you and your dog at home. We go over routines, health, medications, triggers, handling preferences and home access, and decide which service fits best. It's free and there's no obligation to book.

Why are 30-minute walks only for reactive and special-needs dogs?

For many reactive or special-needs dogs, a shorter, focused walk is less stressful and more successful than a long one. Most other dogs get far more benefit from a full hour, so group and solo walks are 60 minutes.

How big are your group walks?

Groups are capped at a maximum of 10 dogs, and dogs are matched by size, energy and temperament. Every dog is assessed at the meet-and-greet before joining a group. Dogs that do better alone get solo walks instead.

What's included in a senior dog care visit?

Each 30-minute visit can include a gentle short walk, help with medication, potty breaks, companionship, and mobility support such as lifting or harness assistance, all tailored to your dog.

Which areas do you serve?

Southwest Calgary. If you're nearby and not sure whether you're in the area, send a message and ask.

When are you available?

Weekdays, weekends and evenings. Send your preferred days and times with your booking request and I'll confirm what's open.

How do I pay?

After your walks are confirmed, I send an invoice by email. Prices are in CAD.

What's your cancellation policy?

Free with 24+ hours' notice, 50% with less than 24 hours' notice, and 100% for same-day cancellations or no-shows.

Are you certified?

Yes. I'm Pet First Aid & CPR certified, with over 10 years of experience working with and training family dogs.
